Interlakes Community Caregivers is taking measures to avert community spread of the new coronavirus. Some measures have impacted our ability to raise funds, and we are making an urgent request to you today.
At this point, we are continuing to offer our services to provide rides and other support services to our neighbors, who are among those most at risk of COVID-19. Our #1 service is a ride to a medical appointment, which may be more important than ever in the face of this new challenge. Grocery shopping is also taking a lead at this time. While doing so, we are implementing public health authorities’ recommendations and working with local facilities and agencies to follow newly established protocols. We are very grateful for our dedicated volunteers and staff.
As the spread of the coronavirus is related with circumstances of close and sustained contact with others who may be infected, in an abundance of caution the Board of Directors has canceled the March 28th Spring Fling at The Mug fundraiser. Also, Ben & Jerry’s corporate office has postponed the March 31st Free Cone Day.
The loss of these two fundraising events means we will be short on income on which we were relying. Will you make a special donation today to offset this shortfall?
Local businesses and individuals donated several gift baskets for the Spring Fling event, valued up to $265.
